Well, we checked in at Koa in Colorado Springs, Co. This Koa is not well maintained. Weeds are everywhere on our gravel site, however water, sewer and electric work ok. The weather is very changeable and we have a supermarket closeby and lots of sighseeing. We will stay till next wed. morning. We go to the Cheyenne zoo. As you can see by the photos we had a grand time, even though this is a mountain zoo and very high altitude and that is a little difficult. My favorite part were the herd of giraffes in a beautiful compound. They are right next to you as you can see, I loved them. Warthogs, meerkats, komodo dragons, sunshine bears, elephants , etc. what a fun time.
The next day we went to Manitou Springs, a beautiful historic town. There are many spigots thruout the town to fill your water bottles from the underground mineral springs which have natural carbonation. It tastes like club soda. Then we went out for lunch to a pizza place called "Marilyns" all decorated for Marilyn Monroe. It started to drizzle and we walked in the showers to cool off.
Well, the next day off to the Garden Of the Gods Park, with gorgeous scenery. (see photo of balanced rock) and spires, took loads of pictures, weather turning hot. The rv mechanic could only fix our electric steps. We leave for Creede Co on Wednesday.
